Clayton Homes recently participated in The Tennessee Valley Authority‘s (TVA‘s) ENERGY STAR® Manufactured Homes pilot program. The initiative was launched to encourage the manufactured housing industry to produce more energy-efficient homes and consumers to upgrade to ENERGY STAR® qualification. The pilot program received honorable mention by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy.* By participating in this and other green practices, Clayton Homes has made a greater impact on conservation efforts and is delivering more affordable, energy-efficient homes to American families.
ENERGY STAR® qualified manufactured homes are designed and built to higher energy-saving standards when compared to the typical manufactured home, and include modern energy-efficient features that regular homes lack. A new home that has earned the ENERGY STAR® label has undergone a process of inspections, testing, and verification to meet strict requirements set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), delivering tighter construction, better comfort, and greater efficiency.
